As you may know, blogging is one of the best ways to find a new audience, spread the word about your service or product and get love and attention from Google.

The questions many people ask are “What should I be writing about”? “How do I know if this is a good topic”? “etc.

Coming up with new blogging ideas to attract new prospects is not easy and that’s why we wanted to share the top 5 tools to help you come up with ideas, topics and create better SEO.

Alltop

Alltop was co-founded by legendary business advisor and author Guy Kawasaki, and as stated on the Alltop site, their goal is to help answer the question “What’s happening?” in topics that may be of interest to you. It is basically a list of recent posts from all the best blogs around the web. From finance and marketing to hair and fashion, Alltop covers pretty much any topic you can imagine. Simply select your topic, and you’ll be shown posts relating to that topic from the top blog in that industry. It’s a great way to quickly see what the top blogs in your industry are writing about and inspire some ideas of your own.

Ahrefs Content Generator

Content Explorer is basically a mini search engine, powered by Ahrefs’ huge database of almost one billion webpages. How does this help generate content ideas? Just enter a topic, hit search, and it’ll kick back a range of results. Sound like a regular search engine? Well, yes, but it differentiates itself from something like Google in one big way: all results are filterable by Domain Rating (DR), word count, estimated monthly organic search traffic, language, number of linking domains, and more. This makes it super-powerful for finding low-hanging content opportunities for your site.

For example, you could filter your results by referring domains and estimated monthly search traffic to discover pages that get a ton of traffic despite having few referring domains (i.e., backlinks). From these, you can extract topics that you can easily rank for without building tons of links.

Ubersuggest

While Ubersuggest isn’t the best tool for coming up with actual blog titles, it is an excellent tool to help generate general topic ideas for new blog posts. Simply enter a word or phrase, and Ubersuggest will produce a long list of results containing the word or phrase followed by some related phrases. These suggested phrases are grouped from A-Z, and below you can see the results for the keyword phrase “mortgages” + f in Example 1. In Example 2, I entered “how do mortgages” and Ubersuggest produced a long list of suggested topics based on this phrase instead of just the word “mortgages”.
